What it looks like to build your offense.

You start out with eight weeks of personalized 1:1 mental performance coaching with Mike Aidala. Get clear on what you want, understand what's getting in the way, and practice doing things differently with structure and accountability.

The 60-80 Dilemma

Most of the people I work with aren't in crisis; they've built something real, but in the quiet hours, they can feel it... the sense that they're operating at 60 or 70 percent of what they're capable of. Not because they lack ability, but because, somewhere along the way, the life they're living became one they inherited rather than chose.

That feeling doesn't go away on its own. The longer it sits, the more normal it starts to feel until … it doesn’t.

What we can work on:

Common areas include:

  • Direction: Figuring out what you want and making decisions you've been putting off.

  • Follow-through: Turning good intentions into actions you can sustain.

  • Boundaries: Making room for your priorities without feeling responsible for everyone else's.

  • Relationships: Communicating honestly, asking for what you need, and having difficult conversations.

  • Confidence: Building trust in yourself through practice and experience.

  • Enjoyment: Putting challenge, curiosity, and adventure back on your calendar.

*You don't need a perfectly defined goal to start. Getting specific is part of the process.

"I was scared and nervous about reaching out to Mike. Asking for help wasn't something I have done growing up. 8 weeks later my family and friends say that I am a completely different person mentally." — Mat F.

What this looks like in practice

One client realized his marriage wasn’t bad... it was just on autopilot. Within a few weeks, he and his wife had restarted date nights, and he’d changed how he talked about what he needed instead of waiting for her to guess. Six months later he described the relationship as closer than it had been in years. The work wasn’t dramatic. It was learning to be intentional about something he’d been coasting through.

Another came in feeling isolated in a way he couldn’t quite explain. He had people around him but hadn’t made a real plan with a friend in months. By the end of our work together he was bouldering weekly, had climbed a mountain in West Virginia, and booked a ski trip with guys he’d been meaning to reconnect with. He started asking what would actually make him come alive rather than just performing well at it.

A third had been talking about starting a consulting business for two years. He had the expertise, the network, and a notes app full of ideas... but he kept telling himself the timing wasn’t right. We worked on what was actually in the way, built a realistic first step, and within eight weeks he’d landed his first client. The business didn’t require a dramatic leap. It required someone to help him stop waiting for permission.

What the process looks like

1. Have a conversation. We start with a free intro call. We'll talk about where you are, what you want to change, and whether my approach fits what you need. You'll have room to ask questions and understand the commitment before deciding. There's no obligation to sign up.

2. Understand your starting point. Before we begin, you complete an intake covering your goals, history, habits, and current challenges. Together, we identify your priorities and define what meaningful progress would look like. Your plan reflects your circumstances, including your time, responsibilities, and what you've already tried.

3. Practice over eight weeks. We meet virtually for one-on-one coaching calls. Each conversation connects what you're learning to something you can put into practice. Between sessions, you work with exercises and actions selected for your goals. We review what happened, address what got in the way, and adjust as we go.

4. Build your next chapter. At the end of eight weeks, we review your progress, identify the tools that helped, and make a plan for continuing. If ongoing support would be useful, you can explore monthly or biweekly coaching.

What happens in a coaching session?

We look at what's happening in your life and where you want to make progress. I ask questions, help you examine assumptions, and bring in tools or exercises when they're useful. We finish by identifying what you'll practice or act on next.

For example:

  • If you’re feeling uninspired, lack confidence or motivation, we will create a personal operating system of action based on your values and goals.

  • If a goal keeps getting postponed, we might examine the obstacles and create a system for choosing a manageable first step.

  • If your calendar feels full but unrewarding, we might look at what you've committed to and what you want to make room for that aligns with your values.

  • If a habit isn't sticking, we might change the conditions around it and test a different approach.

The work continues in the choices you make between calls.

My approach

I ask direct questions and challenge you when your actions don't match what you say matters. My coaching draws on positive psychology, the study of well-being and human flourishing, alongside 15 years of working with people on change.

I believe confidence grows when you give yourself evidence that you can handle something. That might mean setting a boundary, trying something unfamiliar, or taking on a meaningful challenge.

What clients say

Rated 5 Stars Across 70+ Google Reviews

"I took a chance because it seemed different than the others I'd glanced at. Different in the sense that it was less flashy, less cookie-cutter. It was quite possibly the best and luckiest decision I have ever made." — Jake F.
